How we handle your details
sendthejob is run by Owen Burrows, a sole trader, trading as OB2 House (sendthejob). Address: 11 Springwood Avenue, Chadderton, Oldham OL9 9RR. Email hello@sendthejob.co.uk. Our registration with the Information Commissioner’s Office is being processed; the number will be added here once it’s issued.
This page covers three groups of people. Jump to the one that’s you:
- You rang a tradesperson and got a text from us

If you rang a tradesperson
The business you rang uses sendthejob to text people back when they can’t answer. For your details, that business is in charge (the “controller”) and we handle them on its behalf (the “processor”), under a written agreement.
What we hold
- Your phone number and the time you rang.
- If you fill in the form: your name, number, postcode, what the job is, your answers to the questions, anything you type and any photos.
What happens to it
- It’s passed to the business you rang, so they can get back to you with a price.
- We use your number to send one text with a link to the form, and to avoid texting you twice.
- We don’t market to you, sell your details, or share them with anyone else.
- Photos sit behind private links that stop working after an hour.
How long we keep it
Call records, job enquiries and photos are deleted automatically after 90 days.
To see or delete what’s held about you, contact the business you rang, or email us at hello@sendthejob.co.uk and we’ll pass it on and help.
If you’re a tradesperson
For your own details, we are the controller.

If you’re visiting the site
We don’t use analytics or advertising cookies. The only cookies are the ones that keep you signed in to your account, which the site can’t work without, so there’s no cookie banner. To stop the site being abused, we keep a scrambled (hashed) version of your internet address for up to a day when you submit a form.

Where a supplier handles data outside the UK, the transfer is protected by the UK’s data bridge with the US (for certified companies) or by the ICO’s standard contract terms (the International Data Transfer Addendum).
Your rights
You can ask for a copy of your details, ask us to correct or delete them, or object to how we use them. Email hello@sendthejob.co.uk. We’ll reply within a month. If you’re not happy with how we’ve handled it, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
